About Us
Founded with a passion for making drama accessible to all, Acting Out! is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable opportunities for children to express themselves, take risks, and build lasting friendships. Whether it's through acting, improvisation, or storytelling, we’re here to help the next generation find their voice and shine both on and off the stage.
Our mission is simple: to increase confidence, creativity, and charisma in children through the medium of drama. We provide a supportive environment where young people can explore their talents, overcome self-doubt, and express themselves freely. Through acting, improvisation, and performance, we encourage each child to discover their unique voice, embrace new challenges, and build the self-assurance that will help them in all areas of life.
Based in Kingsway, Gloucester, our youth drama group offers a creative space for children aged 8 to 16 to develop their confidence, creativity, and communication skills through the world of performance. We meet every Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:30pm during term time in hall 2 of Kingsway Community Centre. With weekly sessions and yearly productions, we are always working on something awesome.
Join our group and do something thing incredible!
Our Code of Conduct
Before the curtains rise and the drama begins, let’s make sure we all know our backstage basics: The Acting Out Code of Conduct
1. Be kind to each other – every great performance starts with respect.
2. Be engaged when others are performing – eyes up, ears open, claps ready!
3. Listen when others are speaking – it’s their moment; your turn will come.
4. Be organised – know your lines, your props, and your cues.
5. Be punctual – the show can’t start if you’re late to the stage!
6. Be your best – because no one can play your role like you can.
7. Work as a team – the best shows are ensemble pieces!
8. Celebrate everyone’s successes – because every win is a team win.
9. Limit distractions — phones and snacks are for break time!
10. Have fun – because that’s what we’re really here for!
